From deer and elk to goat and moose, your harvest is handled with care, cut to your preferences, and returned vacuum-sealed, labeled, and frozen.

Your game is always kept separate — the animal you bring in is the one you take home. No mixing, no shortcuts. Just honest, dependable processing you can trust.

A Few Things to Know

All processing prices are based on the incoming weight of your wild game harvest.

Once your order is complete, you can pick it up frozen from our shop — or, if you prefer, we can arrange shipping anywhere in the U.S. through FedEx, UPS, or Alaska Air Cargo. However you choose, your harvest is cared for with the same respect all the way through.

Processing Services & Package Sizes

  • At Kodiak Island Smokehouse, we process each harvest with the same attention to detail you put into the hunt. Our standard game processing includes trimming, cutting, grinding, vacuum sealing, labeling, and freezing — all designed to return your meat in clean, ready-to-use portions.

  • Standard Package Sizes:

    • Roasts → approx. 1-3 lbs each
    • Steaks → approx. 2-4 per package
    • Burger & Stew Meat → approx. 1-1.5 lb packages

    Your preferences are always noted, and we work carefully to prepare each cut in the way you prefer.

Custom Wild Game Processing — Beyond the Basics

Take your harvest further with our custom wild game processing. From jerky and hunter sticks to bratwurst, summer sausage, and pastrami — each product is made in small batches, vacuum-sealed, and labeled. Perfect for quick snacks, hearty meals, or gifts to share, your harvest comes back in forms as versatile as your adventures.

Processing Notes & Requirements

  • Skinning Required

    All animals must be skinned before arriving at our facility.

    We are not a disposal site for animal waste.

  • Cleaning Fee

    $0.75/lb added for any meat containing dirt, rocks, grass, or contaminants.

  • Bone-In Requests

    Bone-in processing may be available upon request. Please inquire at drop-off.

  • Freeze-Only Service

    For hunters who just need a quick hold, we offer freeze-only at $1.00/lb. Meat must arrive bagged or vacuum-packed. No additional processing provided.

  • Contaminants & Spoilage

    Meat that is excessively dirty, contains larvae, or has started to spoil/rot will not be accepted.

  • Donated Meat

    We accept donations of clean, fresh meat only. We cannot accept spoiled product.

ADDITIONAL POLICIES AND FEES

  • GROUP SPLIT

    $25/per person 

    If an order is being split, this fee is applied to each split.

  • RUSH FEE

    A rush fee of $.75/LB will be added to any order that needs to be completed in 4 days or less (subject to availability).

  • GAME COOLER AND FREEZER STORAGE

    $0.15/lb per day (subject to availability) 

  • GAME PROCESSING STORAGE

    1 week of freezer storage is included in the price of your order.  Anything left in our freezer past 1 week will be assessed a storage fee of $.15/LB per day for up to an additional 3 weeks.  At that time, if the order has not been picked up and no other arrangements have been made, the order will be considered abandoned.

  • PICK-UP FEE

    A $30 fee will be added to any order that needs to be picked up at a dock or airport.  Arrangements must be made in advance.

  • AFTER HOURS PICK-UP FEE

    A $30 fee will be added to any order that needs to be picked up before/after hours.  Arrangements must be made in advance.

  • AIR CARGO DROP OFF FEE

    $30 plus $10 per box. Arrangements must be made in advance.

  • SHIPPING

    Shipping services are available upon request through UPS, FedEx, and Alaska Air Cargo. Insulated boxes are available for purchase, or you can pack and ship yourself.

  • ABANDONED ORDERS

    Orders that are left at our facility for longer than 30 days will be considered abandoned and will be disposed of.
