A Proud Legacy of Growth

Originally founded in 1987, Kodiak Island Smokehouse has a long-standing tradition of excellence. In 2016, our family took the helm—committed to honoring the business’s roots while bringing fresh creativity, innovation, and a deeply personal touch to everything we do.

By 2018, fueled by overwhelming support from our customers and the success of our expanding retail product line, we outgrew our original location and moved into a much larger, modern facility. That move not only gave us room to grow our seafood retail and production, but also allowed us to expand into full-service wild game processing—providing hunters with the same level of care, craftsmanship, and respect we bring to every fish.

Today, our expanded retail store and production space allow us to better serve local residents, visiting sportsmen, and the growing number of travelers discovering the authentic flavors of Kodiak.

From trophy halibut to a freezer full of sockeye, from moose to deer, we hand-fillet and butcher most products with precision—offering a level of care and customization that larger operations simply can’t match.

We are proudly HACCP certified and regularly inspected by both state and federal agencies. And if you visit our retail shop, you can even watch our skilled processors at work via a live-stream monitor in our lobby—a behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship that goes into every order.
